SI Dusit was chartered in 1981 by Mrs. Joanna Ho, and has prospered since. As of June 2010, we are 33 active and dedicated members. We promote the objectives of Soroptimism and the advancement of women following the motto ‘through education, we can help others to help themselves’.

Since 1995, we have supported a successful and continuous scholarship programme.  This has so far helped over 1600 students to gain education including 230 students up to university level. Presently, we support 112 students.

In order to finance the scholarship programme, SI Dusit’s has an annual major fundraiser. This year we adventured out on a new idea, embrassing Thai art.  Our 'Art From Inside' was well received and made for a totally new experience for all those who participated. 'Art Fundraiser on February 2010'

We are also well-known for our biennial fundraiser ‘Home and Garden Tour'. The last one took place on Saturday, January 31, 2009.

In alternate years, SI Dusit has been no less creative and we have offered entertaining programmes by introducing guests and sponsors to Thailand and its culture, such as  in 2008 with  ‘Gently down the Stream, back in time to old Siam’ or the ‘Experience on the Crystal Serenity’. 

SI Dusit enjoys an international membership with contacts all over the world. Our club belongs to the Federation of the South West Pacific [SISWP] (http://www.siswp.org/) with the following 12 member countries:

Australia, China, Fiji, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongolia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Singapore, Solomon Islands and Thailand. Thailand, formerly with the UK Federation, joined in 2003.

In July. 2010 SI Cambodia will also be part of SISWP, making us a body of 13 countries.

S I Dusit meets every 2nd Tuesday of the month at the Nai Lert Park Hotel Bangkok. This venue may change for the odd event or Month.
